Founded in March 2021 by Claudia Hernandez and DJ/producer Brett Johnson, Might Be Magic has grown into one of Austin’s most prolific underground dance collectives. With nearly 60 events a year, MBM has become a heartbeat of the city’s electronic music scene, known for its consistency, curation, and community-driven spirit.

Anchored by resident DJ Brett Johnson—whose groovy house and techno sensibilities are backed by over 25 years of experience—Might Be Magic creates an authentic underground atmosphere where international heavyweights and Austin’s best-kept local talents meet.

Over the past few years, MBM has welcomed an impressive roster of high-profile guests, including Magda, DVS1, Cinthie, Maurice Fulton, Truncate, boo williams, mark grusane, Lauren flax, Fort Romeau, Mystic Bill, Gene on Earth, DJ Diz, Lady D, Interstellar Funk,  Bradley Zero, Daniel Bell, the carry nation, tommy hart, Marcos Cabral, and more.

From warehouse parties to rooftop takeovers at Neon Grotto, and poolside events at the W Austin, Might Be Magic spans the full spectrum of spaces—always with one goal in mind: a sacred, electric dance floor where house, techno, acid, and disco oddities come alive.
